Mock exams are shocking, surprising and nerve-wrecking. For many it could be heavily disappointing for them to receive a lower grade after working hard for so long. I surely felt the same after some of my mock exams and cycle tests last year. What change does that make? What effect does that have? The answer is simple: nothing!
Many students in the past have experienced the cold rush of dread and horror when receiving an undesirable grade, however we must remember that mocks give students the opportunity to improve, many have ascended a grade or two in their final exams. The purpose of a mock exam is to prepare you for the stress, intensity and pressure of a GCSE. Instead after completing these exams, you need to carry out some effective reflection to ensure you are improving and learning, and this is from someone whose done it!
You should not feel demotivated or lose confidence in your academic ability
Move forward and focus on your mistakes- use them as places to improve in and focus heavier revision on them
Keep working hard
Keep practicing in time conditions if you were shocked by how quick those 2 hours slip away
Do not be stressed: You have plenty of opportunity to improve with cycle tests and practice papers before the real GCSEs
Determination is the key success factor in your GCSEs,and without it you are unlikely to achieve the desired grades. Therefore, do not allow a disappointing grade to be the barrier blocking your road of achievement. Believe in yourself: that is the true formula to achieve success . Work hard, stay determined and you will achieve the best grades!
