To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before- 14+
This one is a series, despite the fact that it covers many seasons and involves a crucial skip ride, I'd argue that this film exudes rebirth vibes, earning it a place on this list: After secret love letters she wrote to her crushes end up in their hands, Lara Jean (Lana Condor) has to face her feelings head-on (I believe that's called growth). Oh no!
Emma- PG
The nature of spring is always captured in Jane Austen's novels: light, passion, and the English countryside. Emma is a film adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel about a young Regency-era socialite who amuses herself by playing matchmaker. Emma's meddling ruffles her, as you would imagine. The 1996 original starred Gwyneth Paltrow, but a new version was released in 2020, with Anya Taylor-Joy as The Queen's Gambit.
You’ve Got Mail- 14+
"But this movie takes place throughout all four seasons" say the skeptics. Yes, I know, but the final scene in Riverside Park perfectly captures New York at its best. When Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan fall in love, viewers will fall in love with springtime in the city—flowers bloom, yes, but it's the light that seems to be magical.
Tuck Everlasting- PG
Tuck Everlasting is a sweet tale of young love and an enchanting spring with magical powers, starring Alexis Bledel as Winnie and Ben Kingsley as Jesse Tuck. You may have read the book it's based on in middle school ("Tuck Everlasting" by Natalie Babbitt), but that's no excuse to miss this fast watch.
Notting Hill- PG 13
For a city known for its rain, London is positively charming in this classic rom-com starring Julia Roberts (Anna) and Hugh Grant (Will). Notting Hill is the very best of an English spring, with spots like Rosemead Gardens, where Will and Anna do some late-night trespassing (and where Hugh Grant utters his famously cute "whoopsie daisies" line), and the illustrious Hampstead Heath, where Anna films a Henry James' period piece (a film within a film).
