The former boy band singer became the first man to grace the Vogue solo cover in December 2020

We’ve all heard our former 1D heartthrob singing his way into our hearts, making us swoon over his looks and that voice of an angel. Bet you didn’t think it was possible for him to make us love him even more. Well, clearly we all thought wrong. The talented singer stays conquering our hearts, as he should. Harry Styles, yes the same boy who once notably sang Story of my Life with One Direction, was featured on the cover of the December issue of the US edition of Vogue, making him the first man to appear solo on the cover of the magazine. Now this, this is a Sign of the Times. The 26 year old singer, being the fashion icon he is, wore a pale blue lace Gucci ball gown and a black tuxedo jacket on the cover.
The Watermelon Sugar singer has just added another award to his rising list of accomplishments. Starring on the cover has also made him the first man to lead the solo fashion title. He broke some fashion stereotypes on the way, proving anybody can wear anything they want. The singer did receive quite a few judgemental comments for his choice of wearing a ball gown, but he handled it with much grace. His Vogue cover really challenged the masculine and feminine gender norms that traditional fashion magazines hold, but he himself says he doesn’t hold himself to these standards. “Even if the masculine and feminine exist, their limits are the subject of a game”. Beautifully said. It’s already made clear that he’s not into these labels. One thing’s for sure- no matter what he wears, he flaunts it effortlessly.
We love that he’s spreading such a valuable message to his fanbase, but the Dunkirk actor doesn’t stop there. He loves dressing up. “ You can never be overdressed. There’s no such thing,” Styles said in his interview with Vogue. “Now I’ll put on something really flamboyant, and I don’t feel crazy wearing it.” With his clothing, Styles really likes to experiment. “It’s like anything – anytime you’re putting barriers up in your own life, you’re just limiting yourself. There’s so much joy to be had in playing with clothes,” he added.
“I think the moment you feel more comfortable with yourself, it all becomes a lot easier." Couldn’t be said any better.
